15 Austin restaurants opened in June. This is the paper trail.

In June 2026, 15 restaurants opened in Austin. This is every public signal each one produced on the way to opening day. Every cell opens the evidence: a state record, the restaurant's own post, or the review itself, with a link to verify at the source.
The seven signals
Government filing: Sales tax permits, TABC licenses, construction filings.
Website: Domain registration date
Social pages: Facebook, IG created date
Opening post: the restaurant's own social post announcing an opening date.
News: press coverage naming the opening.
Online ordering: delivery and pickup providers detected for the location.
All 15 have a government paper trail. 14 filed under their own entity; Noble Joe under its operator's new LLC registrations.
The median gap between the first public signal and the first Google review is 132 days. By the time Google notices a restaurant, it has been publicly available for about 4 months.
Chains file first and post never. Starbucks was named as a signed lease 15 months early and never posted a word. Hook & Reel's permit landed in January with zero press and zero social presence.
Independents post first and file late. Food trucks and small shops announce on Instagram 1 to 4 weeks before opening, and their permits sometimes trail the opening itself.
11 of 15 already take online orders. 8 are on delivery apps and 3 sell through their own site only.
The signals confirm each other. Mia & More's permit declares first sales on June 19, the exact day its Instagram countdown promised. Howdy's TABC license was issued on its soft-opening day.
The filings are hard to find. They exist for nearly every real opening, but they do not sit at the storefront address. Elsi's SalviMex Eats filed at the owner's home address, which is normal for food trucks. CUI filed as QPN INC. OG Biryanizz appears to be Originally Guntur LLC, the OG spelled out. Somos filed at "Saint Elmo" while every map says "St Elmo", and Via 313's Fast Friends counter is filed at "7313 N Interstate 35" while the listing says South. If you search only the venue's name and address, you will conclude the filings do not exist. They do.
Restaurants leave breadcrumbs online before they open. Ora agents track them across all states and can find an opening, on average, 88 days in advance. In 80% of the openings, Ora also finds the owner and their contact information.
