The numbers
Of the 79 open stores, 71 publish a website. That is 90 percent of the city's pet retail, reachable the same way Ora reads a restaurant's menu.
Seven chains account for 26 of the 79 storefronts. Bosley's by Pet Valu alone runs 12. The other 53 stores are independent and wonderfully specific: a dog bakery, a reptile workshop, a tortoise supplier, a cat cafe, and a rabbit cafe.
