104 Florida Hotels Changed Owners Since July
Ora reads Florida's hotel license files. This is what changed since July: new owners, new brands, and new hotels.
The numbers
104 Florida hotels changed owners between July and October. The largest sale was the JW Marriott and the Ritz-Carlton at Grande Lakes in Orlando, which sold together.
A new owner often brings a new management company and a new brand. In the past month alone, the Fairfield Inn in Key West became a Compass by Margaritaville, and the Arlo in Wynwood became Mia Wynwood.
The license changes first
Every hotel in Florida is licensed under its name and its owner. A sale shows up as a new licensee. A rebrand shows up as a new name, often while the old sign is still up.
